4th of July

The girls and I went to the garden this morning and picked almost four pounds of green beans. Still waiting on the first tomatoes.

Jenna went over to a friend’s house this afternoon, and the rest of us went to town tonight to the park to watch the fireworks. Lots of people scattered over the park between the puddles (it rained this afternoon—we got an inch and a half at the house) to watch.

When the fireworks started, all was well…

…but very quickly, the smoke from the fireworks seemed to hang in the air and before long the fireworks were fairly well obscured.

Never-the-less, we had an enjoyable evening. It could be that it was the first time I’ve ever worn jeans and a long sleeve shirt to watch fireworks.  We met up with Jenna afterward.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Fourth of July.
