This has been a busy week with school ramping up, dental and eye appointments, soccer practice, and various meetings. I would say I’m looking forward to the weekend, but tomorrow night four girls are
invading coming over to spend the night. Actually, it will be fun. All the girls’ friends are great kids, which is one of the things we love about our church.
We start another season of college football this weekend, and it will be another season of not watching any on TV. I guess this first week won’t be too bad as not many others will be able to watch the Texas/Rice game either. If A&M actually leaves the conference, I’m not sure what Dana and I will do on Thanksgiving anymore. I guess we really ought to enjoy the rivalry this year.
In September we will be in full school mode. I’m going to Knoxville in the middle of the month for a denominational meeting, and Saturday soccer games start. Oh, and our cool summer weather will turn into cooler fall weather.
And with that: August was, despite having the hottest day of the year, actually a little cooler than July. While the high temperature was 93° on 3rd, the average high was 86°. The low temperature was 53° with the average low being 63°. It rained 3.3 inches over 5 different days. It sprinkled today, which is the first time it’s rained in two weeks, which is the longest stretch without precipitation since we’ve lived here.
