Finally—almost

Jenna finally got her braces off!

Almost.

But getting the tops off and not the bottoms does mean no more rubber bands. They were hopeful that she could get bottoms off before Christmas.

Each week, both Rebekah and Lauren have to do presentations in class. A couple of weeks ago, Rebekah did her presentation on clothes during colonial times. She borrowed an authentic outfit from some friends.

I have been impressed with how their presentations have improved since the start of the semester. They are certainly more at ease standing up in front of groups than they were three months ago.

We were going to have company last night, but Rebekah woke up with a slight fever, so we cancelled. She began to feel better throughout the day, and so we went ahead with the plans for making smores last night.

Yesterday the girls went on a field trip with several others from the homeschool group down to Dahlonega, GA to a gold mine. It was in full operation back in the late 1800s. They got to pan for gold, learn a little history, and have fun in the mines.

Tomorrow the youth are having a get together after church for a meal and games. Then we will be going to the Community Thanksgiving service. I have been asked to preach this year, so I get to work on two sermons this week.

We are all looking forward to a week off from school and Thanksgiving. We are going to some friends for lunch on Thursday. They have TV, so I think we might actually get to watch some of the UT/A&M game.

We hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends.
