Freezing Fog

I had a new experience today. I suppose it may not be new to many people, but I guess I either hadn’t noticed before or hadn’t been outside on a very cold, foggy morning. The fog was low and thick this morning, and the temperature was 20° when I left the house. Fine, tiny white “snow flakes” were randomly floating in the air—not falling—just floating. The fog finally burned off to reveal a clear blue sky, and the mountains north and east of town were still covered in Tuesday’s snow. We live in a beautiful place.
