Busy Day

We said goodbye to the McKenzies after church yesterday as they were heading back to Texas.

Today, we drove up to Graham county with our friends, the Staffords, to pick blueberries. The beautiful little farm has much more than blueberries (grapes, veggies, blackberries, peaches, pears, flowers—all for sale), but that was what we were after today. Between us and the Staffords, we picked five gallons of the tasty little morsels, not counting what we ate along the way.

In the midst of the blueberry bushes, we met the owner and visited with him for awhile. We found out that the farm is for sale. If only I had four and a half million…

I suppose the sale of the farm won’t be on the same system as the sale of blueberries:

And yes, the freezer was full of cash.

After getting our fill of blueberries, we drove over to Joyce Kilmer Forest, had a picnic,  and did the two mile hike.

Long, but fun day.

Sounds like a fun day! I have been wanting to plant a blueberry bush. I wonder how long it takes for them to produce?

I don’t know. I didn’t ask that question. At Mercier’s, they said apples took three years. Seems like that is a common answer I’ve heard about fruit bearing plants.
