Cumberland Falls

We enjoyed a scenic drive from Cumberland Gap National Historic Park to Cumberland Falls. The trip took about 2 hours.

Cumberland Falls is located in one of Kentucky’s state resort parks, which means there is lodging and a restaurant. Cumberland Falls, nicknamed “Niagara of the South”, is the second largest waterfall east of the Mississippi and the only waterfall in the Western Hemisphere where a moonbow is visible on a full moon.

We did see part of a rainbow.

We hiked down and around to see the falls and continued to enjoy the fall weather and scenery.
