Our last day of Classical Conversations was this week. The girls still have some school to do this week, but finals are being taken and final assignments are being completed. And the girls helped to put up the Christmas lights outside this afternoon.
Tomorrow night the kids and I are going with the youth from church to see the Hobbit. I’m not holding my breath in hopes that it will be really good. After the first one, I’m thinking the movie will try to tell a much different story than the book. But hopefully we’ll have fun nonetheless.
Dana is going to a Ladies’ Christmas dinner with other ladies from church. The kids have their youth Christmas party next weekend. The elementary and pre-school kids will be putting on a Christmas musical at church next Sunday. Rebekah is one of the wise men. Then we will have a Christmas Eve service on the 24th and of course tamales that night—which means we have to make them in the next week or so.
Dana’s sister and family are planning to come for New Years. The kids are hoping for either a foot of snow or sunshine. We missed all the bad weather that Texas got. It just rained and stayed above freezing here. It has gotten colder the last couple of days, but now it is dry.
The local football team, the Murphy Bulldogs is making its fourth straight appearance in the 1A State Title Game this weekend. The lost the game 3 years ago, won 2 years ago, and lost again last year. They are playing the same team this year as last. We will not be making the trip to Winston-Salem.
We hope everyone is doing well.
