June has flown by. After getting back from Texas, I performed a wedding here:
Then everyone but Rebekah got sick. Then I went out of town for three days for my annual training for the tutoring I do for Classical conversations.
Every summer the Folk School has a week of classes for junior high and high school kids. Lauren won a scholarship this year and got to go. The two classes she got to take were recycled art and puppetry. Here are a sampling of some of her items she made this week.
This weekend, my good friend from college, James, who has been in Africa the last four years, will come up for a visit as he is in on furlough. I am sure we will resume our long standing putt-putt rivalry.
And next week, we have some friends from Texas who will be stopping in for a night as they are at a conference in the area. And just like that June will be over. July is shaping up to be busy as well. The second week in July, we take some kids from church to camp in Mississippi. Lauren will stay and work the last few camps like she did last year. A week later, our church is doing a mission camp in the community. Then in August we are still hoping to make it back to Texas for a niece’s wedding and on our way back home we will drop Jenna off at college for year #2. And speaking of colleges, Lauren is a transcript away from finishing her first application to college: Mississippi College.
Fun but busy summer.
